1) fault
2) Tokyo
3) crust
4) subduction zone
5) earthquakes
6) pwave
7) tectonic plates

9) ????center (not sure about this one - any ideas, please let me know)
10) across = amplitude
down = aftershocks
11) epicenter
12) richter scale
13) shadow zone
14) swave
15) mantle
16) surface waves
17) seismograph
18) oceanic ridge |

The answer for #9 down is "hypocenter"

Do you have the original crossword puzzle? It seems like it would be a great educational tool (or a test bonus) to implement into the classroom. Is it one that you developed or did you find it? I remember when I was a kid, my teacher used to make up ones herself. Maybe I should do the same thing. _________________ Ooo! Sciency!
Sciency. . . why did I say that? If someone wrote it in an essay for me to grade, I would fail them! Gotta follow my own advice.  |
